Impacto do autismo na QVRSB análise por meio do Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS)

Abstract

Avaliar fatores associados à qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde bucal dos pacientes com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA). Trata-se de um estudo observacional transversal, de abordagem quantitativa, no ano de 2023. Os dados foram coletados por meio do instrumento de pesquisa estruturado sobre qualidade de vida de crianças com TEA e seu estado de saúde bucal. As análises estatísticas foram realizadas com o uso do software Bioestat versão 5.3. As características sociodemográficas da amostra revelaram predominância de pacientes do sexo masculino (84%), com idades compreendidas entre 5 e 8 anos (39%) e pertencentes à etnia branca (55%). Do total (n=64), 43,75% tinham nível de gravidade leve, 48% dos casos apresentaram um diagnóstico precoce. Dos pacientes com diagnóstico confirmado (n=46), 61% dos casos com nível gravidade 1 e apenas 39% dos casos de gravidade 2 visitaram um cirurgião-dentista no último ano. Observou-se que o sexo masculino (94%) relatou um consumo mais frequente de açúcares e carboidratos. A qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde bucal das crianças com TEA é afetada por hábitos familiares, nível de comprometimento, higiene oral inadequada, dieta inadequada e falta de serviços especializados.
